Adding to an already impressive year for turnover, awards and new staff, specialist software provider OrderWise is showing no signs of slowing down. The company has showcased its developing robotics technology, which it plans to launch next year.
Every year OrderWise commits to investing into ongoing research, innovation, development and testing so that its integrated business management software remains innovative. The robotics technology already has over a million pounds invested into its development, which was exhibited at SME Live in Birmingham.
David Hallam, Managing Director at OrderWise, said: “We’re always looking to the future here at OrderWise and after a long time researching robotic warehouse automation, we’re now developing our own robotics solution at our head offices in Lincoln.
“It’s no secret that warehouse labour shortages are becoming increasingly common for many businesses. Companies are competing to increase sales and drive growth, while trying to avoid the costs of hiring more staff – and ultimately that’s where robotic warehouse automation comes in.”
Research shows that 70% of staff time is spent travelling around warehouses to gather stock for orders. David added: “The reason we are investing in our new robotic technology is to help businesses bridge the gap between online and offline trading. One of the key benefits of warehouse robots is the significant productivity rate that can be achieved, which in turn can improve efficiency and aid faster fulfilment.”
OrderWise has also invested in a full-scale demo warehouse, which has been used to test the robotics technology prior to the showcase at SME Live. Several clients are already signed up to pilot the new OrderWise robotics technology once it has been launched next year.
